"This semester I will be giving lectures on General Relativity for students of 4th and 5th year of theoretical physics. This time I would like to change the program of the lectures somehow, so that they might be interesting and useful also for some PhD students, even those who attended my lectures in the past.
The program will include short introduction to physical background and mathematical techniques of GR; a detailed discussion of black hole space-times and global methods including black hole thermodynamics; and, finally, various formulations of theory of gravity as a prerequisite to Quantum Gravity.
The lectures will be held on Tuesdays from 4 to 6 pm and will be followed by exercise classes from 6 to 8 pm, each week starting from March 3rd, 2009.
